The Red-necked Spurfowl (Francolinus afer) is a medium-sized bird, 15" (38cm) and a member of the Francolin family.

The Red-necked Spurfowl searches for food inside Elephant dung and is found in pairs or family groups.

It is found in coastal Kenya, north to Shimba Hills and from Lamu, northwards. A species is found around Lake Victoria and south to the Masai Mara.
