These Red-bellied Coast Squirrel (Funisciurus [Paraxerus] palliatus) were seen in Shimba Hills, coastal Kenya.
The Red-bellied Coast Squirrel are found in Kenya and South Africa and are a very colourful squirrel, with a dark orange belly and tail, with a silvery brown back.
They live in trees and thickets, but can be found near habitation and will feed from the hand. They eat berries, seeds and nuts - also bread!
A Red-bellied Coast Squirrel grows to apround 9" (230mm) body length, with its tail the same again.
