African Pied Wagtail (Motacilla aguimp vidua)

Appearance
African Pied Wagtails are a small bird of 8" (22cm). A common bird of both town and country-side. Black above, with black mask and v-shaped breast band. White wing patch and superciliary stripes. A long black tail with white outer feathers.

Habits
The African Pied Wagtail is a bird that walks, instead of hopping. Seen mostly in pairs, feeding on the ground.

Diet
African Pied Wagtails eat worms, caterpillars and insects.

Resident
African Pied Wagtails are seen in south & west Kenya, in non-arid areas.

Extra Facts
Named 'wagtail', because it pumps its tail up and down, with forward & backward head motions.
